Captain Eric James Tucker – Ashok Chakra Awardee

Captain Eric James Tucker was in command of ‘B’ Company, 2nd Battalion, The Maratha light Infantry. This operation was in the Naga Hills. Captain Eric James Tucker, on 2 august 1957 face automatic gun fire from hostiles which hit him on his chest and he collapsed and died. Throughout his service in the insurgent infested Naga Hills,he displayed great devotion to duty and having undertaken tasks far beyond the call of his normal duty. He never cared for his personal safety and infused great confidence in men under his command through his most conspicuous courage and valour.
